A Christmas Feast

Whenever there’s a family gathering, one thing that is for sure, is that there will be food.  Plenty of food.  This Christmas is no different.  Unfortunately, It’s also the same on the status of me eating solid food.  The status is still ‘not yet.’  Since I couldn’t eat any of the food, taking pictures of the food was my only option to ‘experience’ the food.  Here are the pictures.  What do you think?

Happy Birthday, Uncle Chris

I learned that not only did Uncle Chris came to the States to celebrate Christmas with us, he was also here to celebrate his birthday with us as well.

So this evening, the entire family went to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Uncle Chris’ birthday.  Below are some videos and pictures taken from this evening.

Yup. Noticed that I was sound asleep in Uncle Chris’ arms?  Well, what else to do when you’re sitting in a restaurant, but not allowed to eat?

Last but not least, here are some pictures from the evening.

My First Christmas

Isn’t this beautiful?  This is the Christmas Tree at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house.  And look at all those presents underneath the tree!  Unfortunately, I was told that most of those presents are for Addison.  Although I was given reassurance that once I am old enough to unwrap my presents, I will get equally as many, if not more.  Hopefully so!

Since this is really my first Christmas, I really don’t have a clue how the family used to celebrate Christmas in the past.  Although I can reference Addison’s web-site to find out, but it will only raise my blood pressure if I find out that he got more presents on his first Christmas than I do.  So let’s not focus on my brother!

I was told that this Christmas, we’ll be spending a week at Grandma’s and Grandpa’s house.  Not only because Grandma wants us to be there, it’s also because Aunt Phoebe and Uncle Chris will be flying in from Hong Kong to celebrate Christmas with us.  And yes, although I’ve seen Aunt Phoebe and Uncle Chris a few times over webcam, this will be my first time meeting them in person.  Not only am I excited, I’m also looking forward to all the presents that they will shower me with!

So how many presents did I get?  I’ll let you find out for yourself!

If you didn’t see any picture of me opening presents, you didn’t missed it!  Yup!  Those were all the pictures taken from the entire week of my first Christmas, all the way up to New Year’s Day!  What happened?  Because, once again, all the attentions were focused on my brother.  What I can show you is this short video of Aunt Phoebe holding me in her arms.  I could feel that she knew exactly how I was feeling… when one didn’t get to open any Christmas present.

In fact, it wasn’t until after the new year, I had the opportunity to be on camera to (let Grandma and Addison) unwrap a few of my presents.

Here’s one more example:

Here’s another example:

Another one:

And this one, my brother just simply took it, and played with it.

As you can see, it wasn’t really much fun when one couldn’t talk, tear, unwrap, and punch.  I am just so looking forward to my next Christmas.  Until then, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas too!

Remember This Picture?

Yup, that’s my I-am-so-good-looking-and-cute-brother, Addison.  This picture was taken when he was 4-months old.  Well, guess what?  Any pose you can do, I can do better!  Not only that, I’m keeping the finger in my mouth for this one time only!  You won’t want to see my finger next time!

A Photo Shoot with a Male Model

I was flipping through the latest Vogue magazine yesterday and I noticed that whenever there’s a female movie star doing a photo shoot, there’s always a male model, with lots of muscles, and a very messy hair-do, trying to block the movie star’s angle.  Those male models are so good looking that I sometimes couldn’t decide if I should be looking at the move star’s dress, or the male model.

So today, when Mommy was taking some pictures of me, I invited a stand-in model, who doesn’t know a thing about modeling fee, and took some pictures.

I’ll let you be the judge.

My First Thanksgiving

How embarrassing was that!?  My brother threw up in the car while we were getting to the location where our Thanksgiving dinner was held.  Whatever the reason was, he better stop throwing up, or I will not go out with him in the future.  I was totally lucky this time that his semi-digested, warm-ed, cheese and yogurt did not get onto my dress.  Otherwise, he would have to buy me another dress, for sure, in the middle of the Thanksgiving evening.  This is totally not my idea of celebrating my first Thanksgiving!

Anyway, back to the real topic of the evening.  Thanksgiving!  I’ve heard that all you do on Thanksgiving is eat, eat, and eat.  Well, not for me.  Even though it’s Thanksgiving, I’m still sucking on the same old bottle, with the same old infant formula.  The good thing is, Mommy and Daddy did get to eat… for a bit.

The whole evening was kind of boring for me.  Watching Addison running around the backyard wasn’t exactly fun on my part.  Fortunately, there was Aunt Annie there who pretty much played with me for as long as I was there.

Here are some pictures taken from the evening.

My 4-Month Check-up

No!  I didn’t post the wrong video.  I knew it was a video from my brother Addison’s 4-month check-up.  The point I’m trying to make here is… noticed all the attentions that he received?  The blanket to cover him… Daddy talking to him… and as soon as he made an attempt to cry… the whole world paused.

Now, take a look at how my 4-month check-up went.

No blanket... Daddy was not holding me... and of course, I was trying to be a good girl, and didn't make a sound. But somehow, it was Addison who was crying!  What’s going on here?  I thought I’m the girl here, and I’m the one who needs the most attention.

Sadly, here’s the painful part where I had to take a few shots to my thigh.  I cried only because I was worried that there will be scare on my thigh.  Not because of the pain, of course, as you can tell.

I’m Teething

My gums are sore and itchy all the time, yet Daddy seems to have a problem with me putting my fingers into my mouth.  Not only that, he seemed to feel there was a need to video tape me… suffering.  Why?  Grow up, you people!  This is not funny!

The Making of a Christmas Card Photo

DSC_3736Edited2009

Folks, what you see here is the picture chosen for this year’s Christmas Card.  However, I want to stress that I am not the person who is responsible for the mailing list.  So if you do not receive a copy of our family’s Christmas Card, please check with Daddy and/or Mommy.

So what happened today is that Daddy’s work place is holding its annual Christmas party.  So Mommy and Daddy thought that it would be fun to bring the family to this place to take some pictures.  Not knowing where I was going, I really didn’t know what to expect.  But once I got there, I was presently surprised.  This place is beautiful!  There were lights and Christmas Trees every where.  Not only that, there was a Princess there!  Unfortunately, the Princess decided not to keep my Brother for the night, and kindly returned him to Daddy after taking a few pictures with him

Here are a few more pictures taken from the evening.

Cool Hats!

Look what’s on my head!  Mommy said in a few months, I will understand a bit more more about the cap that I had on in the first few pictures below.

The cap that I had on in the last few pictures, was a hand-made gift from a friend of Daddy, who is also a computer programmer.  Daddy said this programmer works in the middle of nowhere, underneath feet of snow, and the software programs that she wrote are so good that Daddy doesn’t even have to test her programs before putting the program into use.  Daddy also told me that the UPS driver always walk into her house in the afternoon, without her husband knowing.  Whoever you are, thank you very much for the hat!

It’s time for another one of my of bath update.  This time it is Daddy who was giving me a bath.  Take a look and see how much fun I was having.

Happy Birthday, Brother!

Today is my brother’s 2-year old birthday.  It is a big deal because he thinks it’s a big deal.  Which is all that matters, right?  No, I didn’t get to open any present today as all presents were for him.  That’s fine!  Instead, I spent the observing his little birthday party celebration, and tried to plan out my next birthday party so that I know for sure that my party will be bigger and better than his party today!

Let’s start with a video of Grandma trying to cheer me up, hoping that I wouldn’t realize that all the gifts that we brought over were for Addison.

Fast forward to the evening, here’s a video of Grandma trying to cheer me up, once again, after I found out that I was not going to be taking part in the cake tasting ceremony!

Moments later, Grandma decided to pull me away from all the actions because the scene of Addison having so much fun blowing off his 2 candles was just too much for me to take.

Yup, that’s my day!  Rather non-eventful, right?  It’s okay!  It’s not my birthday.  Wait till you see how Addison reacts to my Birthday party next year!  Until then, you can find out more about his birthday party from his website here.

My First Halloween!

I don’t understand… instead of giving away the candies that you bought for the trick-or-treat-ers, why not just keep the candies to yourself, so that you don’t have to go out at night to knock on stranger’s door to beg for candies?

Apparently, my parents did get that concept and insisted on bringing Addison out to trick-or-treat.  Did I get to stay home and rest instead?  No!  Why do I even have to go when I don’t get to eat any candy?  And you want me to wear what?

Yup, that’s what they made me wear on my first ever Halloween!  Can you believe that?  I don’t want to spend too much time talking about what else had happened when we were out trick-or-treating.  You can read all about it on Addison’s blog here.  This video below is taken when THEY are done with trick-or-treating.  Can’t you tell that I was so glad to be home, at last?

Just a Few Videos

The first one I have here is a video of Daddy trying to strike a conversation with me.  As you can, I wasn’t in a particularly good mood when this video was taken.

The second video here is, unfortunately, another video of Addison kissing me.  Although I have to say that it has been a while since Mommy and/or Daddy asked Addison to give me kisses.  I still think Addison’s kissing is a bit too much!  My boyfriends are not going to like it when they see this later!

My 百日宴 Hundred Days Banquet

Was it a Banquet that lasted 100 days?
No, it’s not a banquet that lasted a hundred days long.  Instead, it’s a banquet to celebrate my 100th days since birth!  And yes, I’ve been counting!  And yes, I know it’s not exactly 100 days, but hey, I need to accommodate folks who do have a job, and therefore, I moved this event to the nearest weekend.

Did Addison get a 百日宴?
No, Addison didn’t get one!  Instead, he had his 滿月 (Full-Month) Banquet instead.   I’m more mature, and I rather not throw a party until I’m 100-days old.  I mean, what if I meet a good looking boy, and he thinks I’m too young?

Where did we go?
Mommy and Daddy decided to pick a restaurant that is more ‘local,’ to avoid traveling time.  Therefore, instead of a Chinese Restaurant that Addison picked for his ‘Full-Month’, Mommy and Daddy picked a Japanese Restaurant called O-nami

How was the food?
How would I know?  But based on what I’ve heard, the food was really good!

Who showed up?
Lot’s of friends, family members, and relatives.  Most of them were meeting me for the first time.  And yes, they all commented that I’m a pretty girl!

What time did the event end?
Did you buy me a watch when I was born?  Then how would I know?

Why didn’t you receive an invitation?
Don’t ask me!  Ask my parents!  They were the ones who sent out the invitations.  Maybe they ran out of stamps?

Are there pictures to see?
What do you think?

By the way, it’s still not too late to send me a necklace, or a pair earrings to celebrate my 100th day!

Pics-a-Plenty!

One quick look at these pictures below, you can tell one thing for sure… the battery inside Daddy’s camera is fully charged!

Actually, these pictures are also signs that both Addison and Myself are well behaved today… while Daddy was at work.  Otherwise, Mommy wouldn’t be able to take these pictures of us.

Enjoy!

By the way, there will be a very important event tomorrow!  If you have already received your invitation, please don’t miss it!

Modeling – My First Halloween CostumeS!

Unbelievable!  How could anyone consider a dozen or so pictures taken from 1 outfit as Modeling?  I don’t blame him.  Because what do boys know about Modeling?  Nothing.  Exactly!  You want to see what modeling is all about?  It must be your lucky day today!

My First Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節)

Today is 中秋節 (Mid-Autumn Festival).  Grandma and Grandpa came to our place to have dinner with us tonight.  But before they got to our place, Mommy took the opportunity to capture this video of me, laying in Addison’s bed.

Grandma and Grandpa arrived later in the afternoon, and we all had dinner together at home.  Here are a few photos taken throughout the day.

Later in the evening, Mommy and Daddy took us out for a walk.  If you’re still wondering what is this Mid-Autumn Festival is all about… well, tonight’s moon is supposed to be the roundest out of the entire year, based on some Chinese calendar.  As you can see from this video below, it’s really pretty round!

However, I really think that moon is even more round when I’m around.  Why?  Because if you look at how my brother celebrated his first 中秋節, without me, of course, the moon from his videos were that… round.  What do you think?

Tummy Time and More

It’ Sunday and it means that Daddy didn’t have to go to work today.  Not only it means that I got to spend more time with Daddy, it also means that I had to spend less time with Addison.  Because when Daddy is around, he would take Addison away from the ‘girls,’ so that we can have some peaceful time like this…

However, peaceful time like this could also mean more ‘Tummy Time’ for me.  I’m not a big fan of Tummy Time because it makes feel very tired.  Well, Mommy didn’t seem to care about my fatigue that much!

Once in a while, Daddy and Addison would come by to check on us.  And when I’m not sleeping, Daddy would usually pick me up and stand in front of the mirror to talk to me.  Why?  Because he thinks that I like talking to him, through a mirror.  And if I make some noise, he likes it even more.  But you know what, I may be comfortable standing in front of a mirror (as with most girls), I may not be as comfortable when there’s a camcorder pointing at me.  Check out this video below if you don’t know what I meant.

But if the camera is not within sight, then it would be a totally different story!

I Passed My First Tests!

The majority of the test results have returned to Dr. Liu’s office, except for the urine and G6PD test.  Dr. Liu called to inform Mommy that all the results looked good!  Dr. Liu told Mommy to stop breastfeeding completely, until my Jaundice is completely clear.  We are to return to Dr. Liu’s office, again, in a week’s time to check up on my color.

Addison and Me

You know, sometimes, when my Brother is not all jealous and loud, I do think he’s a very nice.  Unfortunately, I just don’t get to see the nice side of him that often.

Getting My Blood Drawn

Daddy took the day off today to take me to the lab to get my blood drawn.  It was a mistake on my part, to expect that there is such a place/lab that is children-friendly.  Hey, if my Doctor’s specialty is children, shouldn’t a children specific lab exists too?

The moment Daddy and I step inside this lab, I knew I was in trouble.  I did not see a single kid around.  Not only I’m the youngest in the crowd, I might even be the youngest EVER patient stepping inside this lab.  Come to think of it, Daddy could even be the second youngest person there!  Within seconds, Daddy covered my stroller with a blanket and we hid out in a corner that is furthest away from the crowd.

Although it was still an hour away from the posted ‘lunch hour,’ we soon learned that we were the last patient for the morning.  And after waiting for more than an hour, my name was called.  (By then, Daddy and I were the only ones sitting in the waiting area.)

Nurse:  “Hi, how are you?”

Daddy:  “Very well.  Thanks.”

Nurse:  “That’s a lot of blood work for a 2-month old.  Please take off her clothes”

Daddy:  “Okay.”

Nurse:  “Uh.  Jaundice?”

Daddy:  “Yes.  Are you going to draw the blood from under her foot, like how they did it while she was still in the hospital?”

Nurse:  “Oh no!  There are too many blood works ordered here… it won’t be possible to do it from her foot.  It has to come from the vein in her arm.”

Since Mommy did not come along, video taping wasn’t possible.  So considered yourself fortunate for not having to watch what happened next.  First, it took the nurse more than 10 minutes to locate my vein.  She tried my left arm, my right arm, then back to my left arm.  She just couldn’t ‘feel’ it.  It was until Daddy suggested…

“They usually put something warm over her… (to increase the blood flow, so that the vein can be spotted.)”

Nurse:  “Ah, let’s try that.”

Nurse:  “Please be patience with me.  I want to make sure that I only have to stick the needle in her once!  Therefore, I want to make sure that I have the vein accurately.”

It worked!  She did catch the vein in one try!  Just to give you an idea on how much blood was drawn from my little 11-pound body, please take a look at this video below.

First of all, I don’t know that person in the video.  But do you see that tube that was used to collect the blood sample?  FIVE tubes of blood were drawn from me!

Of course I did cry!  What are you thinking?

Here are a few pictures of my ‘injury’ that I sustained from the blood draw.  Can you tell I was not in a good mood when these pictures were taken?

Dr. Liu Called Back?

Dr. Liu called called Daddy later this afternoon and told Daddy that she spoke to a specialist about my Jaundice situation, and the specialist recommended further blood tests and an urine test, just to make sure everything is okay, especially my Liver.  Dr. Liu asked Daddy to stop by her office to pick up a kit to collect urine, and to pick up a form for the blood test at the lab.  Here’s the list of blood work that was being ordered!

Lactic Acid Dehydrogenase (LDH)
Haptoglobin
Bilirubin
Reticulocyte Count
Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Deficiency

Yup, if you took the time to read through all the links provided above, you’ll have a rather clear idea of what the Doctor is focusing one.

No, you don’t have to thank me for this valuable medical education.

My 2-Month Check-up

Today is my 2-month check-up.  My previous visit to the doctor should had been my 1-month check-up, yet, I’ve been making a lot of un-scheduled visits, due to my Jaundice condition.

As of last visit, Dr. Liu said my color looked a lot better and she said I could stop the blood test.  That was about 2 weeks ago.  So today, when we arrived at Dr. Liu’s office, one of the questions that Daddy asked was:

“Does her color look ‘okay’ to you?”

Dr. Liu’s answer was ‘No, not really.’  But she also commented that there isn’t much that anyone could do.  Dr. Liu said there is no need to check-in to a hospital.  There is no medication for it.  And I’m already too old to be sitting under those lights for newborn.  The only thing that Mommy and Daddy could do is to stop breast-feeding.

Unfortunately, that didn’t save me from injections.  Part of the routine 2-month check-up is to take the immunization shots.  And ‘ouch!’  They were painful.  Below are 2 videos.  The first one shows me getting weight-in, and the second one shows the nurse sticking that long needle in me.

I Miss You, Daddy!

I especially miss you saying ‘Hello, baby girl!’ to me.  See how happy I am when you’re around to talk to me?

WHERE?

“Where are we going?”

That’s exactly what I was thinking when Addison first told me that we were going to Disneyland.

“Can I just stay home?”

“Oh, Daddy will be there?  I guess that’s okay.  I’ll go.”

Just when I thought the beach was hot and boring, this Disney place totally beats the beach.  I was restrained to the stroller at all time while I was at Disneyland.  There were too many people, too hot, too much noise, and too much sunshine.  Not to mention that there were not enough ‘holding’ time, not enough ‘picture’ time, not enough ‘feeding’ time, ‘diaper’ time, etc.  So why does everyone else seemed to have so much fun?  I don’t have a clue.  Oh, did I mention that Addison was no where to be found most of the time while at Disneyland?  Not that I have a problem with it.  I’ve heard that he posted some videos and pictures over at his site.  Sorry, I’m just not interested.

Here are some pictures taken from my first trip to Disneyland.  These pictures are as boring as the visit.  Half of the pictures were taken in the hotel room anyway.  I could have strike the same pose at home, in Daddy’s bed, if that’s what he wanted.  Please don’t take me back!

Morning Routines Without Daddy

Life in the mornings, without Daddy being around, has been a challenge.  Why?  Because Mommy and I are now left with Addison to deal with EVERY MORNING!  Back then, when Daddy was around, Daddy always took Addison away so that Mommy and I would get some peace and quiet time.  Not anymore!

I wonder if I agree to another younger brother or sister, would Daddy get to stay home again?

Just a Few Pictures

Here are a few pictures taken from yesterday.  Even without Daddy being around, Mommy still managed to find time to take pictures of me.  How wonderful!

Where is Daddy?

When I woke up this morning, Daddy was nowhere to be found.  I was a bit worried because Daddy has always been around when I wake up every morning.  Where’s Daddy?

I later learned that Daddy was kidnapped by a stupid rat called Mickey.  Addison said if Daddy doesn’t return to the rat-trap, Daddy couldn’t bring back money to buy chocolates and cookies for him.  Hello?  What do I care if Addison doesn’t get any chocolates and cookies.

I want my Daddy back!  … and where’s the rat poison?

Grandma Loves Me Too!

Grandma came to visit yesterday and spent the night at our house.  Obviously, Addison thinks that the only reason why Grandma stayed last night was because of him.

I say, ‘Whatever!’

If you take a look at these videos, you can easily tell that who is Grandma’s real favorite.  And let me give you a hint… it’s not the one who is making all kinds of noise in the background!

Was I sleeping with my eyes opened?

Do You Think He Knew that I was Sleeping?

This was not the first time that Addison did that to me while I was taking a nap.  He just likes to climb up and down the couch, and while doing that, his arms or legs often comes within centimeters of hurting me.  Can someone tell him to stop?

And I’ve said it many many times… STOP ASKING HIM TO KISS ME!

Not Another Day at the Beach!?

Most kids would be jumping for joy when they learn that they are going to the beach.  But not me!  Why?  Let’s start by taking a quick look at what ‘visiting the beach’ means to my Brother

Fun, right!?

Now, this is what visiting the beach means to me!

6 pictures totaled.

No, the camera didn’t stop working.  Neither did the camcorder.

There were only 6 pictures because I’m just too young to go to the beach.  If Addison’s first visit to the beach was just a week ago, why do I have to be dragged to the beach when I’m not even 2 months old?

The sunshine was too strong for my eyes, and my skin; The wind was too strong for my liking; And the temperature was too hot for me too!  Just leave me at home!

The only positive thing that I can get out of, by going to the beach, was that I get to wear this cute little dress… underneath layers of clothes (later.)

By the way, where’s my ‘yellow polka-dot bikini?’

Why Do You Think I’m Crying?

Whoever taught Addison how to give kisses, should have waited… for at least 15 years or so.  Somehow, Daddy always thought that I was crying because of something else.  And no, Addison’s kisses won’t stop me from crying!  How many times do I have to cried out loud to tell you!?

Dining Out

Today, we went out to have dinner with my Grandparents, Aunt Annie, and Uncle Joseph.

Here’s a video of Grandpa holding me in his arms.  You can also see that my Brother, Addison, make an appearance towards the end of the video.  Don’t you think my Brother, even sitting still with Aunt Annie, looks like an expert in trouble-making?

Here’s a video of Aunt Annie holding me in her arms.  Once again, my Brother stoke the camcorder towards the end of this video, again!  Why does he always have to steal the show?

Here are a few pictures of Grandpa holding me in his arms, without Addison interrupting the show…

And if you don’t believe me that my Brother, Addison, is a trouble maker, you might want to check his post on this evening’s dinner here.

Just a Few Pictures

Here are a few pictures taken from yesterday.  I just want to show-off this beautiful piece of fashion that I’m wearing.

Little Miss Sunshine

I know Dr. Liu prescribed some natural sunlight time to clear my Jaundice.  But do Mommy and Daddy had to be so extreme?  Taking me to the beach for sunshine?  Addison hasn’t even been to a beach until he was… today!  Why couldn’t I wait 22 months before taking me to the beach?  Not that I have a problem with the beach, I just have a problem with the fact that I couldn’t be running on the sand, just like what Addison did!

Wait a minute!  That’s a very nice outfit that Mommy picked out for me!  Okay, I’ll just settle for a boring day at the beach then.  Here are some pictures taken from today.

When Addison is Not Around…

It usually means that the weekend has arrived, again, whenever I get to spend some quality time with Mommy.  It was no different on this fine Saturday morning.  I don’t exactly recall where Daddy and Addison were at this particular moment.  All I cared was that Addison was not around.  Look, I even got to lay on his bed while Mommy was filming this video!

Now I Know What Addison Was Thinking!

I bet most of you remember this video…

First of all, that’s Addison and not me!  Now, this is me…

Now, I don’t know why Daddy likes to do this stupid eye test.  But now I do know how hard did Addison try not to laugh at Daddy when Daddy does stupid things like this.

Can someone tell Daddy not to do this again?

Spending Some ‘Daddy-time’ with Daddy

Although Addison is now generally less jealous of me these days, I still don’t spend that much time alone with Daddy especially during the day.  So this afternoon, when Mommy sent Daddy to take me upstairs to change my diaper, I took the advantage and cracked a smile at Daddy.  Well, he got so excited that he immediately grab his HD Camcorder and started talking to me hoping that I will give him another smile.  Did it happen?  Find out yourself!

Unfortunately, he just wouldn’t stop there.

I Didn’t Want to Sleep

Why?  Because I couldn’t get to sleep.  Why?  Because I wanted someone to hold me.  I fall asleep much faster when someone is holding me in his/her arms.  I also wake up a lot faster if that same person tries to put me back down onto my bassinet.  So this morning, Daddy was the lucky one who got to hold me to sleep.

Just a Few Pictures of Me

These pictures were taken earlier this afternoon.  What do you think?  Does the headband make my head looks big?

My Third Blood Test Result

First it was 23.

Then it was 21.

Dr. Liu told Daddy that my test result is at 18.  However, Dr. Liu is still not too satisfied with the result and scheduled us to return to her office next week FOR ANOTHER BLOOD TEST!

The numbers are already dropping!  What’s her problem!?

A Day of Doctor’s Visiting

We started off the day with me going to Dr. Liu’s office for another blood test.  I’m sad to say that but drawing blood seems to become a routine for me.  But I still cried out loud when the nurse poke a hole on my foot.  No, we didn’t bring the camera either because it was just another blood test.

Right after my blood test, I went back home for a quick nap.  By around 3pm, it was time for Mommy to go see her doctor.  Since Grandma (Tong) has been staying with us for the past few days, she was able to look after Addison at home, while Mommy, Daddy, and Myself headed out to the Doctor.

Based on what I’ve heard from Mommy’s doctor, Dr. Chen, everything is good with Mommy too!  Which is a very good news!

Later that evening, Daddy took this video while he was chatting with me.

Look Who’s Feeding Me!

Now that Mommy has to stop breastfeeding me for 2 days, it’s about time for Daddy and I to spend some time doing Father and Daughter bonding!  Look at these pictures!  Can’t you tell that I enjoy being held inside Daddy’s arms?

The Results are In!

Just a quick re-cap.  I scored a 23 last time.

Today, I scored a 21.

Dr. Liu told Daddy that it’s good that the number is going down, but a ‘21’ is still too high.

Dr. Liu told Mommy to stop breastfeeding, again, for 2 more days before resuming and we are scheduled to return to the Doctor’s office for another blood test next week.

Another Blood Test…

…means that I have to go through another painful episode of drawing blood.  Mommy didn’t have the camera this time because both Grandmas are not available, and Daddy had to stay in the car with Addison to wait for us.  Daddy didn’t want to bring Addison to the Doctor’s office fearing that that naughty Addison might pick up some virus when his hands will be touching just about everything.  We shall get the result later this afternoon.

Blood Test Result

The Jaundice test result came back and I scored a 23.  Dr. Liu said it is high, and Mommy needs to stop breastfeeding me for 24 hours and return to Dr. Liu’s office for another blood test.  Just when I thought I could have something else to eat other than milk, Daddy kindly informed me that I will be on formula for the time being.  How boring!

My 1-Month Check-up

I just had my 1-Month Check-up today.  Everything went well, of course, except for 1 thing!  The same thing that Daddy has been mentioning to the doctor during the past 2 visits… Jaundice!  Remember Daddy kept mentioning to the Doctor that I looked yellow?  Well, instead of wearing a yellow shirt, Daddy decided to wear a black shirt so that nobody can blame his shirt for my yellow-ish looking skin color.  It turned out that a change of shirt was rather convincing.  Dr. Liu finally agreed that I do looked a bit yellow (contrary to my personal observation), and ordered a blood test.  A blood test!?  How about I’ll just wear a different color scheme of outfit?  I’m sure it will make me look less yellow-ish.  Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option.

Before we get to the scary stuff at the Doctor’s office, let’s start with some routine measurements.

Right after the measurement, we were waiting in the examination room for a while before the doctor showed up.  During this time, Daddy took this video…

Now comes the ‘ouchy’ stuff!

Well, I’m okay.  I survived.  So there is no need to send me toys, dolls, jewelry, nor cosmetics to help me with my pain.  However, Daddy said if my blood test came back with a ‘naughty’ result, I might have to do this again.

Happy 60th Birthday, Grandpa!

爺爺 and Daddy

Although we have never met, I’ve heard that you are not particularly interested in shopping, especially when it comes to clothes.  At least that’s what Daddy told me.  That’s too bad!  Because I know things would have been different had you met me.  I’m confident that you would shower me with dolls and clothes from Day 1.

Anyway, wherever you are now, Happy 60th Birthday to you!

I’m 1-Month-Old. 滿月!

Yes, I’m exactly 1 month old today!  But where’s everybody?  I looked at Addison’s Blog to find out how he celebrated his 1-Month old milestone, and I noticed that there were lots of people visiting him at that time.  Where is that mean lady?  Looking at that first video of her holding Addison, I really think that she was saying some very bad grown-up words (that starts with the letter ‘F’) to Addison, just to try to get Addison to stop crying.  Maybe Daddy was really mean to her when they were young, and therefore, she thought that it was her opportunity to take it out on Addison?  Anyway, I’ve heard from Daddy that she has lost some hair lately.  I hope she’s doing okay.

What about Aunt Phoebe and Uncle Chris?  They were seen in the next 2 videos holding Addison too!  Where are they?  I’ve heard that they bought all kinds of toys for Addison when he turned 1-month old.  I guess I can always keep track of what they owe me, and ask them to pay-up at a later time.  But come on, you people, at least leave me a message on my Blog, just to wish me Happy 1-month old!  Don’t worry, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

So how did I celebrate my 1-month old birthday?  I really didn’t do much except for doing lots of sleeping and eating.  Grandma (Tong) was here to celebrate this big day with me.  Grandma (Chan) left last night, but she did make sure that there is a cake for celebration.  Overall, it was a very simple celebration.

I’m getting a few emails asking me what the dress code will be for my official 滿月 (Full Month) Dinner Party.  Come on, you people, what’s the rush!?  I haven’t decided on where, and when, the official 滿月 dinner party will be held.  As soon as I get the information, I will post it on this blog.  So just check back regularly.

Here are some pictures taken from today.

Me and My Big Brother

It appears that my brother Addison has finally gotten over with his jealousy behavior against me.  Lately, Mommy or Daddy are allowed to hold me in their arms, while Addison is around.  Unfortunately, in an effort to train my Brother to show some love to me, Mommy and Daddy have been constantly asking him to give me kisses.  The end result is that he’s now giving me kisses as if there’s no tomorrow!  I don’t know if my boyfriends will like that!

Here are some pictures taken from today.

Just a Few Pictures

Not much had happened today.  Daddy took a few pictures of me while I was asleep.  Otherwise, I’ve been at home, just like almost every other day since I was born.

My First Meeting with Aunty Annie and Uncle Joseph

"I was fighting a flu."  Uncle Joseph said.

That's the excuse he gave me for waiting for so long before paying a visit.  But when I asked Addison if Uncle Joseph was telling the truth, Addison said 'No.'

"I think Uncle Joseph was just too busy taking pictures and eating!"  Addison said.

Eating?  Why?  That's when I found out that Aunty Annie and Uncle Joseph are like me... a talented blogger!  If you don't believe me, check out their blog here.  When I grow up, they better be taking me BACK to all these restaurants that I couldn't go (with them) right now.  Addison might not care, but I do.

Here are some pictures and a video taken from today.

My First Real Bath

Yes, I know I mentioned that I'm NOT going to go crazy about posting nude videos of me on this blog.  But this is my first real bath, with real warm water.  I felt that I must share.  So watch it all you can before I change my mind.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today is Daddy’s birthday.  In preparation for his birthday, I looked to Addison’s blog to find out what did he do last year, with Addison, on his birthday, hoping to get some ideas on his preference on birthday celebration.  What I learned was that the didn’t go anywhere last year.  Instead he just stayed home.  So, I thought I should get him out of the house this year, since he hasn’t been to anywhere outside of the house other than the grocery store since I was born.  More importantly, this is Daddy’s first birthday with me.  It’s only the right thing to do, to do something special to celebrate this big day with him, right?

So what can I do to get him out of the house?

It wasn’t until Noon that I’ve finally figured a way to get him to take me out of the house!  I remember back when I was in the hospital getting ready to be discharged, the nurse told Mommy and Daddy that if I have any projectile vomiting, I need to be taken to the doctor right away.  So I thought why not have Daddy take me to the Doctor on his birthday to celebrate?

In order to have something to vomit, in case you don’t know, you’ll need either 1)  plenty of alcoholic beverages, or in my case, 2)  milk.  So shortly after my early afternoon feeding, I performed a basic projectile-style vomiting.  No, Daddy didn’t freak out.  In fact, I did a projectile-style vomit just yesterday, and Daddy told Mommy not to worry.  But to celebrate Daddy’s birthday today, I made sure my vomit today is worth a trip to the Doctor’s office, at least in Mommy’s mind.  I figured if I scare Mommy enough, she will bug the crap out of Daddy to take me to the Doctor’s office.  Having Grandma (Tong) on-site helped too, as Daddy had to answer to two concerning individuals, and not just one.

Mission accomplished!

Mommy and Daddy called the Doctor’s office for an appointment and took me to the Doctor while Addison was taking his afternoon nap.  It was a very short and quick trip to the Doctor because the Doctor knew, as well as I did, that I’m doing this just to celebrate Daddy’s birthday.  Still, the Doctor put up a good show by checking me here and there.

“Her weight gain is good; Just give her extra time to digest her food.  If the vomiting continues, bring her back tomorrow.”  the Doctor said.

Oh the Doctor also assured Daddy, once again, that my skin color looks fine!

So here’s my first un-planned Doctor’s visit… just to celebrate Daddy’s birthday, of course!

Later in the evening, Grandma and Grandpa made a surprise visit.  They brought dinner and had dinner with all of us.  After dinner, there was even a birthday cake for Daddy.  Below is a video and some pictures taken from today.

No Videos Left Behind

While working on my blog, I noticed that the following video was left out of my post from July 20th.  Unfortunately, it’s just another video of my brother trying to get me to play that toy that makes that stupid noise.  So please forgive me for putting you through another 2:25 minute of annoyance.

When Addison is Taking a Nap…

Daddy always come over to my room to see if I’m awake, and if so, he’ll spend some time with me if/when possible.  Otherwise, when my jealous brother wakes up from his nap, he would require full attention from Daddy again.

Here are a few pictures taken from today during Addison’s nap time.

I'm Not Addison

Just because Addison liked something when he was at my age, it doesn't mean that I will automatically like it!

Here's a very good example.  My Brother used to like tasting the vitamin a lot.  (See below...)

Now, how could Mommy and Daddy expect me to have the same taste as Addison?

Since it's rather obvious that I have a better taste than Addison, you can probably guess that I was not a big fan of that yucky-tasting vitamin.  Unfortunately, Mommy said there's no way around it, and I still have a lot of vitamins to swallow.

My New Headband

Addison took Grandma to the store, and guess what, I ended up with a gift from Grandma!  It’s a very pretty headband.  Grandma said all baby girls gotta have one of this headband.  So today, after Mommy washed the headband, I got to wear it to take pictures with Grandma and Grandpa.

Daddy, Please Don’t… Mommy, Ask Him to Stop!

STOOOOP!  I promise I’ll be a good girl!  Don’t let him do this to me!

Addison Holding Alicia

Let me go!   Addison is going to drop me!  He’s been wanting to do this since July 13th!  Daddy, please hold me!  Addison is up to something!

Wait!  What is he doing?  Let go of my foot!  Let go!

My First Meeting with Uncle Steven

Today was the first time I got to meet Uncle Steven.  Uncle Steven, in case you don’t know, is my Mommy’s elder brother.  He spent the entire day here, took some picture of me, and also brought me a gift.  Thank you very much!

Later in the evening, we had more visitors to our home.  Grandma and Grandpa brought over a long time family friend, Alicia.  She’s been wanting to meet me for a very long time, and today she finally had the opportunity.

Here are some pictures taken from today.

It Took Only 8 Days…

Remember I mentioned about getting my pictures from the ‘black market?’  It turned out that it was easier to control my photo stock when there were NO photos flowing in the internet.  But once I’ve started to post my pictures on this blog, I’ve been receiving a lot of emails, SMS, and IM messages telling me that there are ‘more’ pictures circulating outside of my blog, then what is available from my blog.  I couldn’t believe that it only took no more than 8 days for these counterfeit pictures to make it onto the internet.

Once again, if you want to waste your time on unofficial pictures, go ahead!  But don’t ask me for more picture when there is none.  I’ll post picture and videos when I see fit!  Like now…

A Day of Visiting Doctors

Mommy, Daddy, and Myself started the day with a visit to Mommy's doctor.  No, Addison didn't get to go because he's considered as a threat to today's missions.

At Dr. Chen's office, the Doctor removed the stitches (more like staples) on Mummy's tummy.  I counted them... there were 13 in total.  I can't imagine someone put 13 staples onto my tummy.  That must be really ouch-ouch.  Fortunately, Mommy seemed to be okay while the staples were being removed.  Dr. Chen said there seems to be some minor infection on the wound, but there's no need to be too concern.  He prescribed some anti-biotic for Mommy, and off we went.  Our next visit to Dr. Chen is in 5 weeks' time.

On our way out, Mommy and Daddy stopped and took a picture at the hallway.  I thought it was a strange spot to take a picture.  But now I know why!  It turned out that Mommy and Daddy also took a picture with Addison, during the first visit to Dr. Chen after being discharged from the hospital.  And if you look at the pictures below, you can tell that Mommy and Daddy are clearly happier when they are spending time with me!

We went home after the Doctor's visit.  But shortly after, we were about to leave the house again.  This time is to see my Doctor instead!  Here's a video of me getting measured in every possible way, at the Doctor's office.

While talking to Dr. Liu (my Doctor), I couldn't believe that Daddy brought it up, again, to Dr. Liu that I look yellow.  Hello, Daddy!?  Look who's wearing a bright yellow t-shirt?  The color of your t-shirt is reflecting everywhere that all of you looked yellow-ish to me!  Dr. Liu took a look at me... check here and there, and told Daddy that I should be 'okay.'  Although I can still tell that Daddy is not completely convinced.

Since I'm not used to going out so much, I got really tired when I got home.  Here's a video of me taking my afternoon nap.  Looking at this video again, I wonder if I was dreaming that I was getting measured, again, at the Doctor's office, and therefore, I moved so much.

Later in the evening, someone found this stupid toy that makes a very annoying sound when shaken.  Mommy and Daddy kept telling me that this toy belongs to me.  I just think that it was actually Addison's toy, and he gave it to me because he didn't like that annoying noise either.

Here's another video, but this time I'm leaning against the u-shaped pillow.

Last but not least, here are a few pictures taken from today.
